Great care from start to finish from everyone concerned, from Mr Chou to the health care assistant who was so kind to me on the first night post-op. I was offered surgery surprisingly soon after first consultation. Everything was well planned and clearly explained to me both at the initial consultation and on the day. The surgery went smoothly and I was discharged after two nights, surprisingly mobile and with pain well managed. For anyone reading this prior to their surgery, I would thoroughly recommend spinal anaesthesia which was amazing and not in the least scary, and I am the biggest coward out! Without doubt it contributed greatly to my speedy recovery. Eight weeks on I am now pain free for the first time in years and cannot thank Mr Chou and his team enough.

Hello, I had seen four or five hip specialists before I saw Daud Chou and I was not sure whether or not to have a hip replacement. I thought to maybe carry on with my arthritic hip for the foreseeable future. I’d got used to handling the pain. I was also fearful of having such a big operation. Within five to ten minutes of talking to Mr Chou I was convinced that I wanted to have a hip replacement and that I wanted him and no one else to carry out the operation. Mr Chou pointed out that should I delay ; my left hip and my lower back would deteriorate as a result of the way I had been walking (with a limp and slightly sideways) …. This was already the case. He listened to my fears and allayed them completely. He also pointed out the risks involved although they were minimal for someone of my build and weight. I felt him to be genuine and forthright in our conversations and also extremely reassuring. He came to give me more reassurance on the day of the operation and visited me afterwards to tell me how it went. I cannot speak highly enough of Mr Chaud. He has an expert and friendly manner and made me feel I was in safe hands. He has a great team around him and they all appear to cooperate at the highest level and all seemed to be on the same page throughout my care; beginning to end at the Nuffield hospital. I’d like to earnestly express my heartfelt thanks for the outstanding care I received from Mr Chou and his team Yours sincerely Simon M Leaver

At my initial out-patient appointment I found My Chou listened very carefully to my story and gave a careful and reasoned approach to my care. My wife and I found his attitude very reassuring. I was pleased Mr Chou planned to use robotic assistance during the operation. The operation itself went very well with no complications. My recovery was quicker and more comfortable than I expected. At the 6 week check, Mr Chou was again a reassuring presence outlining how my recuperation will progress in the coming months. I will be very happy to recommend Mr Chou to anyone who requires his expertise. I was a palliative care physician before I retired, so I particularly appreciated his excellent communication skills.

Mr Chou has been exemplary throughout the whole process. From the moment I met him he came across as caring and extremely knowledgeable about the whole process. He is obviously a very intelligent man. My hip operation was a success all down to him. He talked me through everything explaining in depth about the operation and made me feel totally at ease. He came to see me after the operation and really made me feel cared for. His aftercare is excellent. My whole experience with him has been fabulous. Also full marks to everyone at the Nuffield Hospital who cared for me. They were top class along with Mr Chou.
